Real Talk - Getting Through Hard Things

NAMI - "Ending The Silence" Presentation

Students participated in an Ending the Silence presentation led by Montrayl Riddick from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). This evidence-based program helps high school students better understand mental health, recognize warning signs in themselves and others, and learn how to seek help when it’s needed. The goal of the program is to reduce stigma, encourage open conversations, and help students feel more comfortable supporting themselves and their peers.


Understanding Myself so I can Authentically Connect with Others

This presentation features HopeWay therapist Anna Southwick and nurse practitioner Austin Sowell, who provide crucial information for parents on promoting healthy self-image and healthy relationships in adolescents.

Mental Health Education Assembly

The Myers Park DREAM Team hosted an assembly for parents and students in the Myers Park community to learn more about mental health for teenagers and the resources in our community. The assembly included a line-up of speakers who are experts on adolescent mental health and a discussion that encouraged students and parents to engage more deeply with their understanding of what mental wellness means for them.
